I'm based in Neasden (NW10) and fit gas cookers, ovens and hobs safely and to standard across North West London. Whether it's a straightforward like-for-like swap or a fresh installation, you deal with me directly, with an honest price agreed before I start.

What's included

  • Safe disconnection and removal of your old appliance (if needed)

  • Connecting the new cooker/hob to the existing gas supply

  • A tightness test to check for leaks

  • Checking the appliance burns safely and correctly

  • A safety check on completion

  • Honest advice if anything about your existing setup isn't right

A standard like-for-like installation takes around an hour.

Prices

Gas cooker / hob installation (like-for-like) - from £60

Most like-for-like connections are a fixed £60. New installations needing extra pipework, an isolation valve, or supply changes will be quoted clearly before any work begins - no surprises.

What I install

  • Freestanding gas cookers - disconnect the old, connect and test the new

  • Gas hobs - built-in hob installation and replacement

  • Built-in gas ovens

  • Range cookers (I'm Gas Safe registered for range cookers)

  • Like-for-like swaps and new connections where the gas supply already exists

(If new gas pipework or a supply extension is needed, I'll assess and quote that separately. Some cookers also need an electrical connection - if yours needs hard-wiring, that part may require an electrician.)

Why use a Gas Safe engineer?

It's not just best practice - it's the law. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer can legally connect a gas cooker or hob. A badly fitted gas appliance risks gas leaks and carbon monoxide, which can be fatal. Using a registered engineer protects your home, keeps you compliant, and means the job is done safely first time.

FAQ

Q: Can I install a gas cooker myself?

A: No - by law, gas cookers and hobs must be connected by a Gas Safe registered engineer. DIY gas work is illegal and dangerous.

Q: How long does it take?

A: A standard like-for-like installation is usually around an hour. New installations needing pipework take longer.

Q: Do you supply the cooker, or just fit it?

A: I fit the appliance you've bought. You choose and buy the cooker; I connect it safely and certify it.

Q: My new cooker needs an electrical connection too - can you do that?

A: Most gas hobs just plug in. Some gas cookers need hard-wiring, which requires a qualified electrician - I can help with that too.

Q: Are you qualified?

A: Yes - Gas Safe registered (Reg. 977311), including for cookers and range cookers. You can check my registration on the Gas Safe Register.
